Crasman participated in Shopify Partner Days and received exciting updates on new functionalities. Here's a summary for everyone interested.

Shopify B2B and D2C:

Themes of inter-business trading and manufacturers' direct-to-consumer sales were prominent at the event. Shopify enables handling both through the same platform. Business information, catalogs, custom payment terms, customer management, and invoicing (B2B checkout) are already familiar Shopify features. New additions include:

  • Customer-specific product publishing
  • Checkout branding customization
  • Quantity rules for products
  • Quick order lists
  • Liquid customization on the storefront
  • Volume pricing based on quantities
  • Store contextualization for online shopping
  • Payment and shipping customizations
  • Metafields for B2B buyers
  • Custom themes and templates
  • Order Streamlining

Improvements have been made for smoother order processes, including:
  • Multiple business locations
  • Purchase order numbers
  • B2B discounts based on customer segments
  • Payment reminders
  • Restricted access for sales representatives to view customer data.

    Shopify Shop Pay

A significant update is the introduction of Shop Pay, an expedited payment option. Customers can save their email address, credit card information, and shipping/billing details, saving time at checkout, especially if they've used Shop Pay on another Shopify store. If your online store offers local pickup or delivery, customers can choose it during the payment process using Shop Pay.

  • Customers need to provide an email address at checkout to save payment information.
  • Shipping and billing details are securely stored on Shopify's PCI-compliant server and shared with the store only if an order is placed.

    Shopify POS

Shopify's point-of-sale system has introduced the UI Extension feature, allowing app developers to enhance Shopify POS functionality. This feature enables the acceleration of POS operations and integration with omnichannel solutions for returns, appointment booking, and loyalty programs.
