A flat hierarchy and a humane work culture are key factors for success. At Crasman, everyone is heard and seen, as people are met as their true selves, and there are no barriers.
As digitalisation reshapes the ways of working, we must not forget the people. In the midst of digitalisation, it is crucial to find ways to build and secure a healthy and positive work culture.
So says Crasman’s People & Culture lead Pinja Kankare in an interview with IteWiki.
People are at the core of Crasman
Crasman is a 25-year-old digital agency that produces high-quality e-commerce solutions and related services. Over the years, a small company of just a few people has grown into a stable and reliable player operating in three different locations.
Even though the roots are firmly in technical implementation, it has been natural over the years to move towards broader expertise in digital business.
– Thanks to steady growth, sustainable relationships with customers have been built. Many companies have remained Crasman’s clients for over a decade, Kankare notes.
Continuous efforts are needed for comfort
Crasman has one hundred employees, whose tasks mainly focus on coding, design, and styling.
Crasman’s main objective is to ensure employee satisfaction; everything else is the result of the work of contented people. Open discussions are ongoing, the atmosphere is permissive, and this approach is tangible: Crasman’s staff turnover is among the lowest in the industry.
According to Kankare, in addition to Crasman’s flat hierarchy, the relaxed and human-oriented culture is pivotal.
Thanks to the flat hierarchy, every individual’s voice is heard, and everyone can influence work practices. The approach is relaxed yet professional and encouraging.
Small teams ensure a balance of expertise and development
Crasman’s values are lived out every day. For example, collaboration is at the core of all activities. Small teams ensure a balance of expertise and development. They also allow for supportive colleagues to be around.
Working together is also one of Crasman’s values. It is crucial that personal values align with those of a prospective employer.
It’s not enough for a workplace to look and sound good; it must also feel right.
– It is advisable to trust your feelings and intuition when choosing a workplace, Kankare advises.
