Shopify withstands pressure and evolves — latest insights from partner days

Crasman participated in the Shopify Flow Partner Days in London this December. Impressive figures were presented:

  • During the Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend, commerce worth 9.3 billion dollars was conducted through Shopify (+24% compared to the previous year).

  • 61 million customers have made purchases from Shopify stores.

  • Record sales of 4.2 million dollars per minute.

  • This year, over 1.3 billion dollars have been invested in Shopify's product development.

  • The platform is developed by a team of over 4,500 individuals.

  • Gartner: Best capability for digital commerce (Q4/2022)

Shopify truly withstands load and evolves at a record pace. This is, of course, great news for us suppliers as well as customers who have chosen Shopify.

Suppliers from across Europe participated in the Partner Days, and the following three themes recurred in all discussions:

  • Accelerating migration from Adobe, Salesforce, and Commercetools to Shopify.

  • Shopify's advantages are ease of use, scalability, and rapid development through the ecosystem.

  • Shopify's B2B e-commerce has huge growth potential.

Among Crasman's clients, there are those who have migrated from Magento to Shopify, and several new B2B e-commerce projects are in preparation.

Mega trends in e-commerce according to EY's research

Perhaps the most interesting presentation was given by Ernst & Young (EY), which has 52,000 consultants and 1,500 designers in its network. According to their extensive research, companies plan to invest 5 billion in e-commerce by 2026. The greatest potential is seen in regulated businesses, where the requirement level is high, and special expertise is essential. According to EY's research, consumers are now shifting their purchases to promotions for lower prices. Therefore, reliability in e-commerce is expected during massive visitor peaks. Young people are willing to pay slightly more to get exactly the products they want, and the readiness of consumers to purchase quality has generally increased.

It is fascinating that a large consultancy firm like EY often chooses Shopify for major client projects. EY highlighted Shopify's scalability, customizability, ease of use (for both company and customer), and effortless integrability (connectors) as selection criteria. EY reported that their clients expect prompt customer support, excellent customer management, and exceptional backend expertise from their suppliers. Services are purchased from multiple partners, and the collaboration needs to be seamless.

At the event, it was great to see that Shopify's partner network has wide support available, and Shopify's future looks bright in every way.
