Importing Images and Videos

You can import images, videos and other files via the Studio data repository. Arrange the files into folders which can be managed through the left sidebar. This way, you can easily keep the contents organized. It's also easier to find files from folders named according to the subject matter.

1. Click on a folder under the Folders header on the left.

2. You can bring files into the data repository by either dragging them onto the Select Files - Add Files icon surrounded by a broken line or clicking on the Add Files text of said icon and selecting files on your computer.

Once the files are in the folder, the software creates the versions specified for the images and preview icons for the other files. While the software is processing the files, you can continue working in another folder or go to site management, for example.

Adding Images on Page

Adding an image is easy with an image element. It can also be done in other ways, such as by means of a text element, code element or database element.

1. Click on the column where you want to create an image.

2. Select Image in the New menu.

3. Find the image in the data repository by clicking on the image file select button (magnifying glass).

4. Go to the folder containing the image and click on the thumbnail of the image. Click on Select.

5. You can specify an alternative text and a title for the image. You may also create a hyperlink in the image which points to a page, website, location or file.

6. Finally, save the changes.

Conversions

You can specify conversions for folders, collections and shared folders. This way, data will be presented in a suitable file format and images will be scaled automatically according to the intended use on the web site.

1. Click on a folder or collection.

2. For folder conversion management, click on the Conversions button on the toolbar.

3. Select a conversion from the list of conversions on the left side of the dialog box.

Images in the folder will be automatically converted according to the conversion selected. You can also modify a conversion. The settings of the selected conversion are displayed in the editing area on the right-hand side of the dialog box. You can modify the proportions of an image by rotating it, changing its size and cropping it.

4. To create a new conversion, click on the add button (+) on the Conversions header.

5. Enter a name for the conversion in the name field.

6. Click on the options in the menu on the left-hand side to add color conversions and dimensions for the conversion.

7. Enter the scaling options in the Resize window to determine the proportions settings.

8. Save the changes.

Managing and Deleting Files

You can easily manage files in the data repository. For example, you can keep earlier versions of files and you can freely modify file metadata.

1. Double-click on a file if you want to view its contents or replace it with a new version or modify the image conversion.

The file is opened in a larger view and the contents of the file are displayed at the bottom of the view. On the right side of the view, the preview option is selected. You can go back by clicking on Browse.

2. To see a file's metadata, history data or image conversion data, click on the tools on the right-hand side of the view.

3. To delete a file, drag it into the Recycle Bin in the lower left-hand corner.
