Challenge
Digital distribution channel for enhancing sales, product management, and after-sales services
The primary aim of Frestems' online store is to better serve the company's existing international clients and to attract new customers. The company wanted to highlight the functionalities of its products more effectively through animated product videos, among other methods. The online store was designed to be "locked," meaning that only companies that have undergone the customer approval process could place orders. In addition to product orders, Frestems wanted the system to facilitate the statutory maintenance of products. Moreover, they wanted QR codes on products to conveniently provide additional information when needed. Frestems' products are complex and heavily regulated, thus it's essential for Frestems to always know the final end-user of the product and offer maintenance services for their products.
Solution
Comprehensive product management with Shopify
Crasman developed a B2B e-commerce solution for Frestems based on the Shopify platform and updated the company's visual identity. The structure of the online store is modular and entirely manageable by Frestems. This allows Frestems to independently control the location, quantity, and content of the elements displayed in the store. In the online store's interface, the option to order products is available only to selected customers. Therefore, interested buyers must first complete a corporate information form, after which Frestems validates the company and grants ordering rights in its online store. Logging in enables the presentation of different pricing levels to different customer groups, if necessary. Through the B2B sales channel, Frestems employees can easily create orders for registered customers, for instance, during trade shows. Additionally, requesting the product servicing requires logging in. Upon purchase, the customer receives information on where and how to deliver the product for servicing. The challenge of identifying the end customer and determining the start date of the warranty period was resolved through product registration. Each product must be registered on Frestems' online store. During registration, the product's serial number and other mandatory and relevant company details need to be provided.
Implementation
The new online store helps Frestems serve its customers comprehensively online. Shopify has brought clarity to the company's processes, and centralized product management translates into time savings in daily operations. The e-commerce implementation is easily expandable, and the platform enables versatile further development.
