The Heureka science centre, located in Tikkurila, Vantaa, is one of Finland's most popular leisure centres, attracting approximately 300,000 visitors annually. To offer its visitors an even better experience both online and onsite, Heureka set out to revamp its digital service ecosystem with Crasman. At the core of the project was the transition to a modern Shopify platform, which addressed several business-critical challenges.

Challenge
Enhancing customer experience and integrating fragmented systems
Heureka aimed to modernise its digital services to meet today's standards. Key areas of development included enhancing the technical functionality and usability of the online store, as well as ensuring seamless ticket scanning at gates to avoid queues. Additionally, there was a desire to integrate ticket sales and reservations in a way that tickets could be sold for specific time slots to manage visitor numbers. Furthermore, a flexible and centralised content management system was needed to efficiently publish content both on the website and on the science centre's information displays.

Solution
The Flexible Shopify Platform at the Core of the Digital Offering
Crasman designed and implemented a comprehensive solution based on the Shopify e-commerce platform for Heureka. This was not just an online store upgrade, but a strategic move towards centralized and modular digital management. The new platform enables Heureka to independently and flexibly manage all content on their website.
Implementation
The new Shopify platform has brought tangible benefits to Heureka's daily operations and significantly enhanced the management of the extensive digital ecosystem. Thanks to more efficient content management, event information now automatically transfers from the website directly to the science centre's information displays. The system also generates clear reports on ticket sales and usage, which supports business planning. Staff have found the platform's management to be effortless and straightforward. "Shopify has proven to be much more intuitive in management than WordPress and WooCommerce. We are eagerly anticipating how we might incorporate artificial intelligence into our service in the future," says Vesa Kuokkala.
