Challenge
Growth in sales through digital distribution channels
The objective of establishing the online store was to better serve builders of detached houses or holiday homes, families who value their gardens, gardening enthusiasts, and in the business sector, landscape contractors and small construction companies. Lakan Betoni aimed to offer its target groups modern service and innovative, inspiring, and customisable solutions. The user interface of the online store was intended to be straightforward and approachable. In addition, due to the weight and size of the products, the logistics options of the online store needed to dynamically adapt according to the size of the orders, and fully tailored delivery pricing options were desired for certain product categories.

Solution
Centralised platform for both sales channels
Crasman implemented a solution for Lakan Betoni based on the Shopify e-commerce platform, which includes both B2C and B2B online stores. The entire setup is managed from a single control panel, and all orders are directed into the same order processing pipeline. However, completely separate reports are generated from different sales channels. In the B2B store, customers are identified through login, which enables the presentation of different price levels to different customer groups. Employees at Lakan Betoni can also easily create orders for registered customers via the B2B sales channel. The system dynamically calculates shipping costs based on postal code area, the volume of pallets to be delivered, and the order size. Additionally, the logistics solution took into account the need for fixed-price delivery of certain product groups and various combinations of fixed-price and dynamic freight costs.
Implementation
The structure of the online store is, of course, completely modular, meaning the employees of Lakan Betoni can independently manage the placement, quantity, and content of the elements displayed in the store. – The project remained entirely on schedule and within budget – overall, everything has proceeded very smoothly, states Juho Hiltunen, CEO of Lakan Betoni. – Shopify is incredibly intuitive to use, and managing the entirety of the online store is logical and straightforward, adds Marketing Coordinator Elina Riikonen.
